Led by Dr. Mojgan Salehi and our experienced team, our SRP procedures are tailored to provide thorough and comprehensive care for patients with advanced gum disease.

Understanding Deep Cleaning (SRP)

Deep Cleaning, or Scaling and Root Planing (SRP), is a non-surgical procedure aimed at treating gum disease, also known as periodontal disease. It involves carefully removing plaque, tartar, and bacteria from below the gumline and smoothing out the tooth roots to promote healing and prevent further progression of gum disease.

BENEFITS OF DEEP CLEANING (SRP)

Effective Treatment for Gum Disease

SRP is highly effective in treating gum disease by removing plaque, tartar, and bacteria from below the gumline and promoting healing of the gums.

Prevention of Tooth Loss

By addressing gum disease and restoring gum health, SRP can help prevent tooth loss and preserve the integrity of your smile.

Improved Overall Health

Research has shown that gum disease is linked to systemic health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and stroke. By treating gum disease, SRP may contribute to better overall health and well-being.

Long-term Oral Health

With proper oral hygiene habits and regular follow-up appointments, the benefits of SRP can be long-lasting, helping you maintain healthy gums and a beautiful smile for years to come.

THE DEEP CLEANING (SRP)

During your Deep Cleaning appointment at Apex Dentistry, you can expect the following steps:

Dr. Salehi will conduct a thorough examination of your gums, checking for signs of inflammation, bleeding, recession, and periodontal pockets. X-rays may be taken to assess the extent of bone loss and other underlying issues.

The tooth roots will be carefully smoothed out to remove rough surfaces and bacterial deposits. This promotes the reattachment of the gums to the teeth and reduces the risk of further plaque buildup.

Our skilled hygienists will use specialized tools to remove plaque, tartar, and bacteria from the surfaces of your teeth and below the gumline. This process helps eliminate infection and inflammation in the gums.

We will evaluate the health of your gums and measure the depth of periodontal pockets to assess the severity of gum disease. Dr. Salehi may recommend additional treatments or interventions based on the findings.
